Getting Off a Law School Waitlist
Law School Podcaster just released a great 23 minute podcast with advice for those of you on law school waitlists. I’ll admit, I was among those interviewed in the podcast and I have really enjoyed the content at Law School Podcaster lately, so if you haven’t checked out this site, I highly recommend it.

Hi Ann,
I just listened to the podcast and I thought it was great!!! I honestly thought that I would be a pest by contacting law schools about my status but now after listening to the podcast I realize that I haven’t been putting myself out there as much as I should have been. I’m definitely going to use your suggestions mentioned but in a non-stalkerish way. Thank you! Your tips on the podcast and in general are ALWAYS extremely helpful!
Hi,
In the podcast you stated “If you have an area that you really have a demonstrated interest and expertise in, find the professor at that school that shares that expertise that you would want to work with and study with and contact that person. ”
I’m interested in tax law and was thinking about emailing a few of the tax professors there. What should I say in the email? What should we be discussing about? I’m not sure…thanks!
Cindy,
It’s a great idea! Describe your experience and why the professor’s bio interested you. Good luck!
Hi there!! Since you seem to be in the know about these things
…I have a few questions that I am sure a couple other people are curious about…
I am currently riding 3 waitlists for T-14 schools. (Northwestern, UVA, and Cornell- well I am techincally still on reserve there) Since this is an odd year, do you have any insight as to what’s going on in terms of enrollment and if the chances of getting in off a waitlist at this point this year are slim to none? The rumors are pretty bad and say that all of the schools are overenrolled. If that is the case, why have the wait list?
E – Schools don’t move to WLs until July, after 2nd deposits. It’s too soon to tell if there will be major movement in the T-14… Hang in there!
